Random photos

Not sure how clear this is in the photo, but see all those little dots in the air above the trees at this traffic roundabout? That's a huge flock of bats spotted on our way to the pool at around 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning:



We ran out of shampoo, so I went to our corner "cosmetic store" (like Ghana's version of Shopper's Drug Mart, minus anything pharmacy-related) to pick up something new. Suffice it to say, this is NOT what we're now using to wash our tresses:



Perhaps only Melanie will be able to determine what I did last Thursday night by this photo alone:



That's the big outdoor screen at Alliance Francaise Ghana, showing Gone With The Wind as part of their free Thursday-night "greatest films of all time" series. What a treat it was to sit out under the starlight, sipping a cold drink and watching one of my favourite films.

This week is The Grapes of Wrath, followed next week by Citizen Kane. All in English with French subtitles -- good practice for Mali! (One must always be prepared to announce, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" in the local language.)
